499999 INDIVIDUALLY APPROVED PROVIDER (IAP): Used
only when the provider agency has submitted an application to the WV
Board of Social Work Examiners and has received approval for a
particular program on a specific date. This number may also be used if
you physically attend a social work program IN ANOTHER STATE THAT HAS
BEEN APPROVED BY ANOTHER STATE SOCIAL WORK BOARD.
Category II - Individual Professional Activities (IPA):
490000 INDIVIDUAL PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES (IPA):
This category allows the licensee to use a maximum of twenty (20) hours
for completing a variety of self-directed activities or education
programs that are not WVBSWE approved. You may use this category for a
college course that is relevant to social services. Please refer to your
Professional Manual for additional
information. DO NOT SUBMIT MORE THAN TWENTY (20) HOURS UNDER THE
CATEGORY II PROVIDER.
WV Board Does NOT Participate in National CE Approved Programs:
- ASWB "ACE" CE Approval Program
- NASW: National CE Approval Program
Any agency, organization, or individual that plans to offer a
Continuing Social Work Education program WITHIN THE STATE OF WEST
VIRGINIA, must have WVBSWE written approval in order to award licensing
credit to WV licensed Social Workers.
